Here are some of my favorite links:
- New Song United Methodist Church:
where our family currently attends church.
- The TV Food Network
is one of my favorite cable channels.
- There is a wealth of information related to the Civil War on the
internet. The most extensive set of links I have found is on
The American
Civil War Home page.
There is something for everyone here.
- One of my favorite sites related to the civil war is called the
Valley of the
Shadow Project.
This site analyzes in great detail the effects of the war on two
communities, one north and one south. Considered are Augusta County,
Virginia and Franklin County, Pennsylvania. The site has various types
of information including letters from soldiers, Official Records
relating to these communities, photos, battle maps, and more.
- The National Park Service
is a wonderful organization in our government. When I am preparing
to tour a civil war site, I always research the suggestions and print the
suggested walking tours from this high quality web site. The park rangers
are all very good and will surely make your visit more enjoyable.
- My favorite National Hockey League team is the
New Jersey Devils.
My favorite hockey player is their goalie Martin Brodeur. I
hope that they improve for the 2002-2003 season. I must admit, though,
that in our area, it was hard not to feel great about the
Carolina Hurricanes
run towards the Stanley Cup.
- My favorite Football team is the Minnesota Vikings. When I
was a kid and knew nothing about football, I saw them lose Super Bowl IV
to the Kansas City Chiefs. I was amazed at how cool their helmets
looked and started cheering for them. It stuck and over thirty years
later, they are still my team. I just wish they would go back to playing
outdoors.
- My favorite NBA team is the Los Angleles Lakers. Shaq and Kobe
did us proud in the NBA finals. Hope for another great season this year.
