Thrift Shop

*****
Positions available! The Whistle Stop is in need of volunteers!

Did you know the Thrift Shop brought in approximately 72,000 dollars last year? All of this money was given through the OWC and ESC to scholarship recipients, disater relief, and various assistance programs. Serving as a Whistle Stop Volunteer can be a very rewarding experience. Volunteers perform an important service to the Officers' Wives Club and to the community at large. In addition, many volunteers will develop new skills that can be used to enhance their resumes.
If you are worrying about childcare, don't, we will give you a childcare chit. Imagine that ..... adult conversation and a well trained, paid "babysitter". You won't know what to do with yourself! Please come and be a part of the new crew next year. We need you and your community needs you!

General Guidelines:
  • All Whistle Stop Thrift Shop Managers and Coordinators must be members of the Officers' Wives Club at Cherry Point.
  • For the most orderly and efficient operation of the shop, it is strongly suggested that two Coordinators be assigned for each day.
  • Some job responsibilities may overlap; this serves to guarantee that someone is performing the duty at all times.
  • There may be times when not all positions are filled; however, operations cannot take place unless a Manager is in place.
