Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 2 Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 2, warmly known as "The Deuce," provides administrative and supply support to the 2d Marine Headquarters. The squadron also performs all logistic planning for the headquarters. The squadron is responsible for over 500 personnel. These include Marines and Sailors assigned to all the "G" shops, Aviation Logistics Division, Band, Joint Career Planning Office, Wing Chaplain, Comptroller, Wing Medical, Adjutant, and Staff Secretary. In addition, the squadron provides administrative support to the 2d Force Imagery Interpretation Unit and the Fleet Aviation Specialized Operational (FASO) Training Group. The squadron "proper" consists of a command element, an administration section, an operations section, a logistics section, and a supply section. Together, they ensure that the Wing Headquarters can remain focused on leading and directing the Wing. The squadron's focus is on supporting internal requirements and taking care of the welfare of assigned personnel. The squadron also organizes the deployment of the headquarters. Elements of the headquarters work in several buildings throughout Cherry Point. Most, including the Wing Commanding General, the Assistant Wing Commander and their primary staffs, reside in Building 198. The squadron proper resides in Building 294. The squadron strongly supports its Key Volunteer Program. Our Key Volunteers welcome families to the headquarters, provide a means of finding solutions, and ensure all are informed of important information.
