Windows Tips and Tools
Often some of the most obvious things in life are overlooked. Recently a
client asked for a good source for Windows tips and techniques and downloads
that would help him with his computer. There are a lot of free sites on the
web which offer tools and tips. These sites support themselves in two ways.
One is they sell advertising and the other is they offer you a newsletter
and all you have to do is give them your email address.
Certainly not all, but many of these sites sell your email address to
spammers or they begin to send you spam to increase their income. How do we
know this? A recent check of several of the "popular" windows tips
newsletters show they all were on nationally published spam lists. Even the
ones that have statements on their website stating they do not sell your
address or send spam were on the list of known spammers.
If your looking for tips, techniques and free tools to make your
computing life better why not go to the source. Did you know Microsoft
offers thousands of free tools for your pc? Below are a few helpful links
but I encourage you to browse the Microsoft site for all sorts of tools and
tips. Microsoft also has what may be the best troubleshooting information on
the web.
